then put into progressive combinations. |

training is essential to a dancer's progress. It teaches and
improves coordination, flexibility and musicality, as well as
develops and strengthens the muscles. Ballet class consists
of barre and cneter work. |

| One
of the most popular dance forms today...hip-hop is street dancing
that incorporates the break down of dance moves, which are then
put into fun and fast paced combinations. Hip-hop teaches and
improves rhythm and coordination. |

| A
jazz warm up, progressions across the floor and combinations
ranging from the most technical to stylized are introduced.
Jazz fuses together technique and style, with a focus on stage
presence. |

|
| An
expressive form of dance that combines ballet and jazz techniques
while telling a story to the audience. Lyrical is extremely
technical and emphasizes the importance of fluidity in dance.
It is suitable only for students with experience in
ballet and jazz. |

|
| Technique,
musicality, rhythm and coordination are all focused on in tap
class. Students are introduced to tap steps ranging from beginning
to the most complex, and apply the learned material during a
warm up, center floor and combinations. |

|
Dress
Code
All students are expected to wear dancewear in class along
with the appropriate shoe. Absolutely no street clothes or
baggy sweats will be allowed in class. If a student is not
dressed appropriately for class, they may be asked to sit
out that day.
Hair
should be up and pulled off the face. Ballet students must
wear a leotard with pink tights - beginning level classes
a ballet skirt is acceptable. Tap and Jazz students - any
type of dancewear will do: leotard with bikers/dance pants/dance
shorts. Those students enrolled in several classes on the
same day, can stay in their ballet clothes - no need to change!
Shoes
- Ballet:
Pink leather ballet slipper (Ages 7+ split soles are suggested).
- Hip-Hop:
Sneakers for dance class only - not street shoes.
- Jazz:
(Beginner/Intermediate classes) Black leather jazz oxford.
(Advanced classes) Gore boots - color determined after costume
selections.
- Lyrical:
Tan gore boots for recital.
- Tap:
Ages
3-5 & 5-6: Black pre-taps
Ages
6 & up: Tan taps with straps
Ages
12 & up: Tan jazz/tap oxfords

Parents: Please do not purchase your dancer's shoes with too
much growing room.
